I run the installer and the game says something about needing to change permissions.I contacted electronic arts technical support and they have not responded after 5 days. Totally amazing - if this is what these guys need to do to make any money selling PC games, then I hope PC games dies a horrible death. My kids purchased spore along with all the extra creature packs. Its a pretty spiffy game and lots of fun. I have never seen anything like it in 25 years of gaming. Then, the kids purchased another expansion pack and now the software asks that the CD be inserted at all times. We aren't stealing this game. But it's pretty frustrating as now the game totally refuses to play at all.
If I had known of all of this, I would have never let the kids purchase the game at all.Be warned - you will be extremely frustrated with the copy protection on this game. Given the way this game has this totally nasty copy protection, I think this won't be possible.I expect that this will be the last PC style game that I am going to allow the kids to play that has any form of copy protection.
The computer started spontaneously asking for serial numbers each time the kids wanted to play the game. But at this point we have purchased the game and the copy protection is making the game worthless.I would also add another thing - the kids usually purchase games and sell them back at GameStop or on E-bay when they are done.
At first they were extremely excited. There's no phone number, just an e-mail address. The thing is this - I don't mind copy protection if it doesn't get in the way of the kids using the game.
Electronic Arts and maxis are totally lunatic companies to put out such total crazy copy protection. But, the copy protection is extremely frustrating.
The kids have spent over $100 on all the modules.
I got a few extra legs and head parts Wow. Didnt really seem to add as much to the game. If you really like the game I guess it might be worth it. Took a few days for my game to accept an upgrade from version 2 to 3 to use it.
I totally dig the paint jobs. Creature Creator was marketed as a first-taste-is-free-kid sampler, so fair enough. I spend more time in Creature Creator than the game itself.
I have no problem with the content. But the price. But Spore Parts just doesn't have that much content. Spore Parts costs twice as much as the original Creature Creator.
I am a big Spore fan, especially of the various Creators. There's another sort of pearly white-on-white job that is really rather disturbing, for no reason I can define. I like it, and I'll use it, but I feel vaguely ripped off, and will be cautious about buying further expansion packs.Still, creepy veiny skinless horror paint app.neat.
I was really looking forward to getting Spore Parts in my grubby little lobster claws. The new parts are nifty. One is this sort of veiny, skinless horror that I can't wait to fiddle one.
BEWARE of buying USED because if someone else used the serial, you will not be able to upload your creations. New parts are fun and "allow" you to continue playing Spore since almost every new creature uploaded uses this, but there are not nearly enough new parts to warrant the price tag. Wait until this is on sale before buying.
Now I can make my creatures more creepy or more cute. I got the downloadable install from EA Games.
